Dermanaut is developing a specialty specific EMR web application designed specifically to meet the needs of dermatologists. Dermatologists have failed to adopt EMRs at the rate other specialties and general practitioners have (approximately 15% of dermatologists use EMR compared to 40% of all physicians in the US). Dermatologists represent an ideal market opportunity as a community both neglected by the market, and with the resources and interest in adopting an appropriate EMR for their offices. Our exclusive location-based workflow relies on visual documentation of problems unlike the text-based applications currently available and has been designed to meet the most challenging dermatology needs. We have tested our prototype with dermatologists across the country and have several clinics participating in our upcoming beta trial ensuring that our product will meet the specific needs of dermatology record keeping.
